Golden Glory and Llwynog-y-Garth

Hi all,
I had the 1964 Yearbook out and was going through it. I HAD to stop and look a picture of Golden Glory which I had looked at many times before. Golden Glory 3084 (1958) by Llwynog-y-Garth 1841 out of Eirlys Gwenog 9402 by Churchill 1711 out of Oakford Charming Bess 9155.

Of course, I then had to pull out Welsh Cob Champions and look at Llwynog-y-Garth (born 1944)...

I had to go to India's site http://www.welshcobs.com/stallion.htm and look at Nesscliffe Sunrise again.... Nesscliffe Sunrise is Llwynog-y-Garth grandson.
While looking through other old issues of Your Pony, I found two more interesting pictures. This is another picture of Golden Glory taken in perhaps 1962 or63… This picture might have been from when they were showing him up against other animals of the early 1960’s.

Then I found another great picture Llwynog-y-Garth in harness.

I just had to chuckle. What totally gorgeous tidy Welsh Cobs. Both would do great in the show ring today IMHO. OK, I guess I am being a little bias here since I am more than a little fond of chestnut Cobs of this breeding.
AND then I started to think about WHAT fun it would be IF I could have bred my Mona Lisa to Golden Glory or Llwynog-y-Garth. I wonder if they would have turned out like my Nesscliffe Sunrise children. Yours, Claudia all pictures can be found at http://www.tangwyllt.com/goldenglory.htm
